POKÉMON KIDS' ROOM! Post #1

Sorry for yelling at you, but our entire family is SUPER excited for this!

Our 7, 5 and almost 2 year old are all Pokémon obsessed - honestly, Mom and Dad are too. None of the kids like sleeping alone and have always needed a grown-up when they got scared. But now, 7 and 5 say they are ready to share a room - grown-up free! What a better way to celebrate than turning it into a full-blown Pokémon room?! 

The dilemma? The only bedroom big enough for the triple (yes, triple) bunk bed is where the toddler and I sleep. He is definitely likely autistic too therefore he is NOT a fan of change. 

The solution? Changing only one or two things about the room every day. I learned this trick when we moved from our home in Kentucky to St. Louis. Our 7 year old (3 at the time), hated when anything in her environment changed. So, when it came time to start packing up our old house, I would pack up just a few things from our main living area rooms (living room, kitchen, her bedroom) every day. This went pretty well - except the day I removed a gallery-style wall display of 9 frames (She did NOT like that)! 

This is the stock photo of the bunk bed we bought. It even has a slide! 

My goal is to stay under $1,200 for the whole room renovation. That may sound like a lot, but that includes the bunk beds, 2 twin mattresses, sheets, comforters, wallpaper, 2 sets of curtains and any decor. 

The final cost of this from Amazon was $566. 

In Post #2, we will talk wallpaper. Yikes.
